Still Painting....and painting.....and painting......

It's a big building and getting bigger!

The husband DID buy the building and parking lot behind us.  His print shop is moving soon from the back of my shop giving me another 2,000 sq. ft. of dealer space and an office of my own
WITH A DOOR.  WOW!  Now that's exciting.

We are hoping to have our new space open November 1st.  Already have a few new dealers ready to set up!

Meanwhile, check out the changes we have had.

And some new stock!

Have a new dealer with Chalk Painted Furniture, come and see what she has!!!
 Great Prices!

Loving the turquoise and yellows.  So cheery.

Oh my....
What a sad little thing.

But as the song says..............................

"What a Difference a Day Makes !"

Tuesday, May 27, 2014

Cheryl and I just got back from a day of estate shopping.  It's always a treat to buy in bulk.  It might have been a bit of a sweat today, temperatures hit the 90's so we kept the water bottles near.

Met some nice people and filled the truck!

A big bag of yummy doilies and embroidered pieces to go through.

I Love oak!
A great washstand.  Nice golden color.

Several primitive pieces including this solid tobacco grading bench, red rocking chair, humidor, washboards metal and glass, several small tables, etc.  Some pieces to paint.

A tuck-able child's outdoor bench for the garden.

Original Oil Paintings

Just got started on the kitchen goodies.  LOTS of Fire King and Pyrex.  Never have too many kitchen pieces do we?

How about oil lamps?

Can't wait to see this one lit!

Still LOTS more to unpack and clean.  It was a good truck load! It was a good day.  We are full of the day's grime but feel pretty good about our haul!

It started with a raw icky bed.

Well, I decided to paint the bed after all.

Added a flourish and voila !!

Kind of reminds me of Wedgwood.

$445 for the set!

Painting Furniture

Normally, I prefer to leave things as they are.  I like the aged look of a piece of walnut, the distressed marks on old oak, etc.  But some pieces just can't be saved any other way.  Out comes the paint brushes.

Forgot to take a photo before I painted the drawers.  Old sloppy stain was nasty and refinishing it would have made it too costly.

And.....look at it now!

I used a slate like blue that I bought at Lowe's.  I love going through their bin of "boo-boo" paint i.e. Miss-tinted paints that are discounted.  Sometimes that is a great deal!

This drum table's top had old oil stains and the metal feet were missing.

Sweet piece now isn't it?

I have a bed frame that I may paint to go with it.  Would make a cute bedroom set wouldn't it?  Maybe I will paint it Monday.
